Re-Post: Nearing Midnight for February 20th (Part 1)
The Hunting of Dick Cheney
The Bible calls Satan the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4). His evil will contaminates all aspects of life today--politics, music, entertainment, education, and even religion. The apostle Paul described Satan as the "prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience" (Eph. 2:2).
I don't recall seeing the name "Lucifer" on the last election ballot. Obviously, his authority comes from the supernatural influence he has over the leaders of this world.
For years I've been pointing to the fact that the liberal media is the perfect servant for implementing the bidding of the Prince of Darkness. The press controls what gets reported as news, they can put any type of spin on world events, and they don't have to worry about elections.
As you all probably know by now, Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot his friend, attorney Harry Whittington, while hunting for quail at a Texas ranch.
The White House news corps has been pounding the Bush Administration, demanding to learn every conceivable detail about Vice President Dick. The media's fixation with the story can only be described as bizarre. I'm surprised they haven't tried to interview the hunting dogs.
At every step, their obvious goal has been to make the story as negative as possible.
The press was the most upset about Cheney's delay in reporting the event. But had Cheney made a statement to the press within a few minutes of the episode, I doubt it would have been any less of a circus.
Whenever I heard "the story just won't go away," it crossed my mind that the liberal media is its own obstacle in getting over the story. Of course, it continues by saying "The whole ordeal has weakened Mr. Cheney's influence." Says who? ABC asked whether damage control is probable. No, people are rioting in the streets and Cheney's resignation is the only way to restore the peace.
The Washington news hounds have no special position in the information chain. They seem to think they are the fourth branch of government, with the executive, legislative, and judicial branches directly accountable to them.
The liberal media absolutely hates Mr. Cheney. He has slighted the press by choosing to stay out of the Washington limelight. When it comes to his personal life, the Vice President doesn't think the press should know where he is, what he's doing, or who he's doing it with.
When Cheney finally addressed the incident, he chose to do it with Fox News host Brit Hume. Because Fox is the only conservative-leaning news network, the true media (liberal) had a fresh round of fits, and I personally had a good laugh. They demanded that the Vice President come clean by holding a news conference with them.
A month from now it's highly unlikely that anything will remain of this story. I think the liberal media did its cause a disservice by stepping on stories that would have had a more damaging impact on the Bush Administration. I'm guessing that the media's better judgment was simply displaced by the sheer pleasure reporters felt in being able to stick it to Cheney.
Mr. Whittington, the victim in this affair, thinks the whole uproar was overblown. After his discharge from a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, he said, "My family and I are deeply sorry for everything Vice President Cheney and his family have had to deal with."
In the space of a week, we had a good opportunity to see how the Washington press corps twists news to fit its collective ideology. If you follow the liberal media enough, you would know that anyone who is its political friend would be treated in a different manner. The Rev. Jesse Jackson is one good example.
Until the day I leave this world, I will never forget how the liberal media handled the Jesse Jackson affair with a young staffer, Karin Stanford. The events stand as the greatest example of hypocrisy I've ever witnessed in my life.
While Clinton was going through his own adultery scandal, Jackson came to offer guidance, and he brought along Stanford, who was heavily pregnant with his love child. Money from his Rainbow Push Coalition was used to buy Stanford's silence. The organization paid her $400,000 to relocate to California.
That shocking story only survived three days in the mainstream press. Today, the press seems to have no memory of Jackson's affair. You would have to understand the liberal bias to explain why a minor hunting accident involving the Vice President could turn into an uproar going into its second week.
One of the reasons the world is sliding towards judgment is the fact that most people fail to see the small steps being taken to move us in that direction. Because the liberal media can hide behind the mask of "we're-just-covering-the-news," it can get away with its subtle plan of manipulation.
The liberal media will be a major player in the last days. As I have said before, when the Antichrist comes into power, the press will be tripping over itself to report his every word. The values that the press currently portrays will perfectly match the values of the forthcoming Antichrist. It will be love at first sight.

I personally feel that the mainstream media has pushed the Cheney shooting thing to the point that it has made them all out to be complete and total idiots, well maybe they did that before the Cheney thing, but they are idiots nonetheless. I am so sick of hearing about this thing I want to scream. Can you imagine how Dick Cheney feels? While, I dont agree with everything he does or his views on all topics, I truly feel sorry for him. The media needs to get a life and shut up about Cheney already!
Beth, the deal is that the MSM has nothing they can come up with to make the President look bad, so when something embarassing does come up, they fall all over themselves to make it look as bad as possible. What a sad existence they must have.
