Is the Temple Really Located on Temple Mount?

I got to thinking again today about the location of the temple in Jerusalem. For years people of the Jewish faith have declared the Western Wall as the Holiest site in Judaism because they believe it is the last vestiges of the Second Temple.

As time goes on though, more evidence is surfacing that suggest the temple may have been further south then originally thought. The Western Wall may actually be just a part of the Roman fort that stood near the temple.

Jennifer Rast over at Contender Ministries has an excellent write-up about this. Another good source is at the Associates for Scriptural Knowledge.

See a graphic of how the temple grounds and fort may have looked in Biblical times.

Here is a link to another good site on temple news.
