"We Submit! A World of Surrender Monkeys" from The Scriptorium

Jennifer at The Scriptorium has laid out how the world has just given in, basically surrendered to the violence and threats of the islamic world.

The world, including the U.S., can no longer make fun of the French. European nations, Africa, Canada, President Bush to a lesser extent, and several other countries have sent a message to the rampaging Muslims of the world. We surrender and submit. Here’s a round-up of the submission to Islam:
A voluntary vow of censorship from the EU.
"Franco Frattini, the European Union commissioner for justice, freedom and security, revealed the idea for a code of conduct in an interview with The Daily Telegraph. Mr. Frattini, a former Italian foreign minister, said the EU faced the “very real problem” of trying to reconcile “two fundamental freedoms, the freedom of expression and the freedom of religion”.
Millions of European Muslims felt “humiliated” by the publication of cartoons of Mohammed, he added, calling on journalists and media chiefs to accept that “the exercising of a right is always the assumption of a responsibility”. He appealed to European media to agree to “self-regulate”.
Accepting such self-regulation would send an important political message to the Muslim world, Mr Frattini said.
By agreeing to a charter “the press will give the Muslim world the message: we are aware of the consequences of exercising the right of free expression, we can and we are ready to self-regulate that right”, he said."
Basically, a new freedom, the freedom from being humiliated or offended, is created, and that negates any right to freedom of speech and expression. We’re free people as long as Islam doesn’t get upset. That’s pretty scary considering Islam is a religion that advocates cutting peoples hands off, beheading infidels, and killing Jews and Christians. What I find most perplexing about this surrender from liberal governments is that most women in these countries obviously have no problem with it. Islam is also a religion that won’t allow women to drive in Islamic countries, forces women to walk 10 paces behind men, gives women no rights in marriage or divorce, and allows mercy killings if a woman is unfortunate enough to be raped. This is the religion that is now being allowed to dictate what our freedoms are and how they will be regulated.
Malaysia shuts down newspaper for printing cartoons
"The Malaysian government shut down on Thursday a local newspaper after it published cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, the official Bernama news agency said. Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also the internal security minister, ordered the indefinite shutdown of The Sarawak Tribune with immediate effect, Bernama said. “Internal Security Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today ordered Sarawak Tribune’s publication permit to be suspended indefinitely with immediate effect for reproducing controversial caricatures of Prophet Mohammed on February 4,” it said."
Even the POSSESSION of the cartoons was banned in Malaysia.
Yemen shut down a newspaper for printing the cartoons, and issued a warrant for the editor’s arrest.
South African courts outlawed the cartoons, effectively eliminating freedom of the press in that country. Apparently, the Muslim Judicial Council is now making the rules in South Africa.
"The South African Freedom of Expression Institute says a judgment by the Johannesburg High Court which prevents the publishing of cartoons found offensive by the Muslim community is a major threat to press freedom. The Freedom of Expression Institute argues that while the cartoon should not be published, that decision should be made by newspaper editors not the courts.
The Muslim Judicial Council applied to the High Court for an interdict to prevent two of South Africa’s largest media houses publishing the offensive cartoons."
Ukraine apologized to Muslims for offending them.
Poland apologized for reprinting the cartoons.
A university in Canada reprinted the cartoons in the schools newspaper, and campus police promptly confiscated all 2,000 copies.
Sweden is shutting down websites that reprint the cartoons. Islam was able to do in Sweden what the U.N., China, Iran, and other oppressive governments haven’t been able to do - end freedom of speech on the internet.
Of course, Koffi and the U.N. criticized the evil cartoons and called on everyone to be sensitive and submit to Islam’s will for us.
While President Bush did condemn the riots, he also condemned the media and suggested they have a responsibility to be thoughtful and considerate. In other words their freedom of speech comes with limits, and those limits are set by people who threaten to kill you every time they are offended.
Lebanon formed a committee to monitor all “hostile campaigns” against Islam.
Singapore won’t allow the publication of things that might offend Muslims. Singapore’s prime minister believes “racial harmony is a higher priority than freedom of expression”. How many more freedoms will be given up in the name of racial harmony?
Mark my words. The internet will be next. When riots begin over websites that have offended the Muslims of the world, the filtering and censorship of the internet will begin. Now that the Islamists know rioting works, they can bring Shariah to all of us riot by riot.
